Urban Decay Naked Smoky Palette
Why did it take so long for a cosmetic company to come out with this kind of packaging? I fell in love with this packaging so badly! Look at all the little details that have been include, the rising of the words, the soft smoky effect going all through the palette but most importantly, how this palette opens and closes. It feels so nice and sturdy yet so luxurious.
The Smoky Palette has been released in Australia for a while now. Released in the US on July 8th and September 29th in Australia with the pricing being 54$USD and 78$AUD respectively (At time of purchased). But at the time of typing this post, the price for Urban Decay palettes have recently gone up to 81$ due to the low Australian dollar. I purchased this palette in Mecca Cosmetics the 2nd day it was released which was surprising as I thought they would sell like crazy.
So what is new in this palette? Apparently there are 9 new shades.
- Smolder
- Password
- Whiskey
- Slanted
- Dagger
- Combust
- Thirteen
- High
- Dirtysweet
To be completely honest, do I like this palette? No, I don't. I found that although they were very pigmented I found that it just wasn't smooth- by this I mean buttery, velvety. It wasn't chalky but there was some fallout and some of the colour payoff was a little patchy. But the colours selection is perfect! There are so many different smoky looks you could do, plums, silvers, blues, browns. Personally I wouldn't find myself reaching for this palette a lot other than for use at night. In saying this, you could still do a smoky look with other 'non smoky' palettes. So this palette, unless your a Urban Decay collector/lover you could probably skip this one or if your wanting to get your first 'every situation' palette grab the Urban Decay 1 Palette! It's so versatile.
