Finally, after 5 months God knows how many months I'm going to sit down and dedicate some time into this extremely long post. Instead of posting it into multiple posts, I'm just going to combine 3 days into 1 post to make things easier. So sit back and enjoy my Cairns 2015 trip with my kimchi, Grace. *cringe*
We stayed at The Hilton which had an amazing location as well as view. Funnily, we got upgraded to a ocean view room! I had no idea what the view would look like though, since we arrived at like 8 and it was pitch dark outside. Being stupid me, I complained (we had so many issues booking with The Hilton) cause I'd already had a bad experience with them before even arriving. Can you imagine the shock when I woke up and saw this view?
Ok, to be completely honest, the photos don't do it justice. You just had to be there! the breeze, sunlight..just the general 'feel' (ahh, I miss it). Waking up and looking at this view was actually really so relaxing. To the left was actually the ports (which you will see soon. We went to this port to take a boat to green island) The rooms were nice but for 5 stars? hmm a little bit of a let down, very basic and old.
DAY 1
Barefoot Tours
This will be the warmest water you will get all day, so enjoy! The horror, oh the horror. Our tour guide told us on our first stop that this lake would be the warmest we'd experience within the whole day. From my memory as soon as I hit the water I couldn't feel anything due to the shock of how freaking freezing it was. It was literally 12-15 degrees. To make matters worse I have a huge fear of open water. Especially the ones like in the images below. Its so deep that you can't see anything yet so wide that if you went deep in the middle and there was a crocodile going to attack you, your basically gone. FYI our tour guide actually told us that there was a crocodile that lived on the other side. I tried to enjoy it but I think my fear just overcame me. Not even a swimming noodle could comfort me.
Somewhere through out the day we ended up at Millaa Millaa. This was probably one of my favourite places as it was so beautiful and scenic. The view was breathtaking, it looked like a painting or even a photoshopped image.
DAY 2
Green Island Day Tour
I did have a lot of photos and videos but unfortunately I didn't save them and somehow managed to erased them. Therefore,I lost a majority of the photos and therefore will end the post here.
